Trigger Warnings

grief, death of a friend, alcohol use, sexual content, emotional distress.

Summary

The Score follows Dean Di Laurentis and Allie Hayes after a one-night stand turns into something neither of them expected. Allie is trying to move on from a long relationship, while Dean is used to keeping things casual and uncomplicated. What starts as fun and flirty slowly becomes something deeper as they both realize their connection is harder to ignore than they planned.

What I Loved

I absolutely loved this book. Allie and Dean are hands down my favorite couple in the series so far. Their banter, sarcasm, and chemistry were fabulous, and they made the story so fun to read. I loved how natural their connection felt, especially because neither of them expected things to turn serious.

I also loved the emotional side of the book. The loss Dean goes through and the way he handles his grief felt so raw. It showed a completely different side of him and made his character feel deeper than just the confident, flirty guy everyone expects him to be. I loved how Dean was there for Allie when she needed him, and how Allie was there for him too. Their relationship felt sweet, supportive, and real.

What I Didn't Love

Honestly, I do not have much that I disliked. I was just sad when it was over because I loved Dean and Allie so much.

Final Thoughts

The Score is easily one of my favorites from the series. It has the banter, sarcasm, spice, and fun romance I wanted, but it also brings in grief and emotional depth in a way that really stuck with me. I could reread this story a million times and never get tired of it.
