The Deal follows Hannah Wells and Garrett Graham, two college students who agree to help each other for completely different reasons. What starts as a simple arrangement slowly turns into a friendship filled with banter, honesty, trust, and unexpected feelings. As they open up about their pasts, their connection becomes deeper than either of them planned.
I absolutely loved Garrett and Hannah. Their banter was one of the best parts of the book, and their chemistry felt so natural from the beginning. I loved that their relationship did not feel forced. They teased each other, challenged each other, and slowly became each other’s safe place.
Garrett was also incredibly sweet and gentle with Hannah after learning about her trauma. I loved the way he never made her feel broken or pressured. He listened, respected her, and showed her that she could trust him. Their honesty with each other made the romance feel real because they were open about their pasts and what they were feeling instead of hiding everything for drama.
The dad was an absolute asshole. That part made me mad, but it also made Garrett look even better because of how differently he treated Hannah.
Everything about this book worked for me. The romance, the banter, the emotional moments, and the way Garrett and Hannah supported each other made this such a good read. Their relationship felt sweet, real, and easy to root for. I would definitely recommend this one if you like college romance, hockey romance, fake dating, and couples who actually communicate.
