Savannah's life takes a dangerous turn when she meets King, a powerful man who is used to getting exactly what he wants. Their relationship gets off to an incredibly rocky start, but as Savannah becomes more involved in King's world, their complicated beginning slowly develops into something much deeper.
I definitely liked King a little more than Nero. Even though King and Savannah had a rough beginning, I loved watching him show her what it felt like to genuinely be loved and cared for.
I also loved the humor throughout the book. The nickname Nero gave Savannah just to piss King off was hilarious and made their interactions even better.
There was one part of this book that frustrated me so much that I actually yelled while listening to it in my car. Some of the decisions being made had me losing my mind, but clearly the book had me invested enough to get that reaction out of me.
King was a really enjoyable dark mafia romance and I liked it even more than Nero. King and Savannah's relationship was messy, but watching it develop into something loving and protective made their story really sweet. It also had enough humor, drama, and completely unhinged moments to keep me entertained.
